I was able to notice the difference—less redness, fewer breakouts, I wasn’t as itchy, and the rashes and hives went away. (I also stopped using the Vitamin C serum when I found out I shouldn’t be using it.) And most importantly, I started using sunscreen!
Around July last year, I started developing hives again on my right cheek down to my neck. I eliminated each product one by one to see which one was causing it, but it wasn’t any of them. I was diagnosed with rosacea around November, which explained the redness on my cheeks and the itchy patches on my face and neck. That happened randomly—aka my flare-ups.
After finding out my diagnosis, I reached out to you again to rebuild my regimen. I stuck with the cleansing oil and Centella Asiatica. The new additions were the carrot calming toner pads (which really helped during the peak of winter), snail mucin & peptide, Aestura Atobarrier cleansing foam, and I also switched to a more winter-appropriate moisturizer—the Aestura Cream.
One thing I also forgot: how important exfoliating 1-2 a week is. I had bad breakouts because I was using so many products and I wasn’t double cleansing properly. As much as I love my cleansing balm/oil, sometimes I wasn’t emulsifying it enough, or it just didn’t get all the gunk off my face especially on days I wore makeup or had an extra layer of moisturizer.
Recently, I travelled to a tropical country for six weeks—peak summer, high humidity, and high UV index. That’s when I was the most religious about my skincare routine—day and night—and I think it really paid off.
I’m still pretty new to this K-beauty journey, but I think I’ve found some of my bestie products:
• BoJ cleansing balm
• Mixsoon & Skin1004 Centella Essence
• Jumiso Snail Mucin 95 Peptide Essence
• Torriden hyaluronic acid serum
• Torriden gel moisturizer
• Haruharu Wonder Airyfit sunscreen
